In addition, the tomato, especially if grown in winter and spring (with less hours of light) may be subject to blotchy ripening which is a misdevelopment due to an excess of nitrogen compared to potassium and magnesium which does not allow a correct fruit maturation.<br \/>\nFor these reasons the ratio of nitrogen and potassium must be shifted towards potassium.
